A. G. Russell Bird Trout
Description:
Revived at Last! The Bird amp Trout was an entirely new concept when we introduced it in 1994. It was very popular with our customers. Since we sold the last knife in 2014, we have been asked almost daily where a customer can find one. We lost the molds in Japan when the manufacturer closed that factory. We have tried ever since to find someone who could make the knife without the cost of the molds for the handle and the sheath driving the retail price out of sight. We finally found a company who could create the molds at a reasonable price. The first shipment just arrived. Those knives are currently being quality checked by members of our staff here in Rogers. This is a very handy, unobtrusive knife in a molded sheath that protects the blade and holds the knife securely in place, and yet it is easy to remove and replace the knife when needed. The 3-1 8 blade of D2 at 59-61 Rc. is ground very thin from the spine to the edge, creating a marvelous cutting tool. Just thick enough to be stiff rather than flexible. A.G. designed it to work extremely well at slicing or skinning. The composite handle is injection molded onto the blade, eliminating any possibility of the handle failing. The injection molded sheath uses the unique Thumbolt lock and release system. It locks the knife safely in place in the sheath until released by gripping the handle and pressing the release button with the thumb of that hand. This sheath is the safest made - if you fall on it, it will probably swivel out of the way and not even bruise you. The blade cannot cut through the hard plastic sheath. Attaches easily to any loop, belt or fishing vest, etc. with the swivel clip. Sized for all kinds of small game. Knife measures 6-3 4 tip to butt. Weighs 1.7 oz. in the sheath. Made in China.
