Every pack should have a way of lighting a fire in the field if things go sideways. This is a perfect addition to any outdoor survival kit. The putty is so extremely light to carry that you will not notice the additional weight and it could possibly save your life one day. It is incredibly easy to light using several methods, and it burns long enough to catch small kindling on fire. It burns clean and steady. The putty will burn in any weather condition. It will burn even when wet. This is by far the easiest fire starter I have used.
